The engine is the heart of your vehicle. For it to work properly, you must tune it up on a regular basis. During this maintenance process, your repair shop will replace your spark plugs, check your ignition system and clean the injectors and may even clean the intake valves. The belt is also an item that will be carefully inspected.
Regular engine tune-ups provide better performance, smoother driving, quicker starts, power during acceleration and fuel economy.
To make the most of these benefits, follow the recommendations set out in your car owner's manual. Then you’ll know how often your technician needs to perform tune-ups. Some situations may require a call to your technician. For example, if you notice that the check engine light is on, fuel consumption is abnormally high, or the engine is less efficient than usual, your car may be due for an engine tune-up.

It’s important to follow the recommendations in your owner’s manual. However, if the check engine light is on, gas consumption has increased, or engine performance seems to be affected, contact your Uni-Pro technician.
